Match the registration to the work
Gas engineers are registered for specific appliance categories. Electrical schemes and certification routes also differ, so explain the exact work before checking competence.
Verify independently
Use the official register and contact details rather than relying only on a badge in an advert. Ask which certificate or notification you will receive at completion.
Separate membership from responsibility
Trade association membership can be useful but does not replace a written scope, insurance, references or your own project checks.
